Brief Guide To Holidays In Marbella Costa del Sol   no comments

Posted at 2:26 pm in Vacation

The Costa del Sol has been a favourite haunt of European holidaymakers for some 30 years now and its popularity does not appear to be waning at all.

The Costa del Sol comprises of many larger and smaller towns including Torremolinos, Fuengirola, La Cala and a number of others, but there is one that stands out from the rest and has become kind of like the St Tropez of this popular coastline.

Marbella is a haven for the wealthy jetsetters of this world. Famous for its designer boutiques, yachts, mansions and playboy lifestyle, Marbella has a lot more to offer those on a “smaller budget”.

Things To Do In Marbella
When it comes to things to do in Marbella there is much on offer and depends on your situation. For example, if you are a single couple, then spending the day on one of many beautiful sandy beaches maybe your thing or heading to one of hundreds of bars and clubs in the area. On the other hand, if you are a family with children then your requirements will be somewhat different.

For families Marbella and the Costa del Sol has plenty to offer including Tivoli World, Benalmadena Sea Life Centre, Funny Beach, one of many “parque infantiles” or just a play on the beach. The kids will never be lost for something to do.

Or if you are looking for a sportier holiday, why not play one of the many golf courses on offer, go skiing(yes skiing does exist slightly inland), or try renting out a jet ski on the beach.

Accommodation
Marbella has an abundance of accommodation on offer including luxury hoteles en Marbella, private villa and apartment rentals, or you can try something different like a luxury health spa retreat on the Costa del Sol. Whatever you choose. There is something for everyone.

If you want a bit more freedom then a private villa rental direct from the owner maybe the better option, but if you want facilities for the kids or want to be waited on, then go for the hotel option.

Weather
Well, what can one say? The Costa del Sol has around 320 days of sunshine each year and hence why it is called the “sunshine coastline”. During the peak summer months June, July and August it can get very hot, so make sure you cover up and use plenty of sun cream. The winter months are cooler but still very enjoyable, so coming away in September, October and November is still a good option as the weather is still great. It also means that the beaches and other parts of the coast are quieter.

Travel
Depending where you are coming from the Costa del Sol has a main airport in Malaga which has recently undergone an extension of another terminal. The hotel is excellent with lots of facilities.

In general, travel around Marbella and other parts of the coast is excellent with the main motorway, the N340 being the main artery. There is a regular bus service along the coast and taxes in abundance. There is also a train service that runs from Fuengirola where you can get to Malaga which is great for sightseeing and shopping.

All in all, Marbella and the Costa del Sol is a great place for a summer vacation. Give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.
